Favorite Kitchen Tool for Summer – Tongs

The tong is my favorite kitchen tool especially in the summer. I can use it to turn veggies on my stove top grill and to flip small items one at a time. They are safe to use on non-stick pans which is a huge advantage. And they lock so they can store easily.

KitchenAid Mixer

I love my Kitchen Aid mixer.  I got it as a Christmas gift last year and now I don’t know how I managed without it.  Baking is so much easier now that I am not holding the mixer in my hand.  I can just throw the ingredients in and things like whipping cream or beating egg whites are infinetly easier than they used to be.

Winning the Battle Against Japanese Beetles

My roses had about 1/3 of the beetles on them tonight as compared with last night.  It looks like cutting off some of the blooms infested with beetles worked well.  I only found one in my back flower garden so hopefully yesterday was the worst it will be.
